After he failed with the Karlsruher SC in the relegation against SSV Jahn Regensburg and was relegated, he switched back to Major League Soccer , where he played the current 2012 season at Philadelphia Union to the end.

In May 2013 Soumaré moved back to Chicago Fire; he had asked for the transfer because he had hardly any working hours. In the 2013 and 2014 seasons he was used in a further 48 league games. For the 2015 season, Soumaré moved to league rivals Montreal Impact . There he played ten league games by July 16, 2015, and was used in six games in the 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League . Montreal Impact then announced that Soumaré would be leaving the club with immediate effect and at his own request and joining FC Dallas . In return, the Canadian Kyle Bekker from Dallas came to Impact.

National team

Out of gratitude to the United States, where it was only possible for him to become a professional footballer, Soumaré originally planned to play for their national team. However, since he did not receive the US citizenship in time, he decided to run for his home country Mali. He played his first game for the Malian national soccer team in 2009.
