Baldenhain is a district of Großenstein in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

location

Baldenhain is located two kilometers from Großenstein on state road 1081 in the arable farming area north of Ronneburg . The corridor of the village is interrupted by green erosion channels with streams.

history

The place was first mentioned on June 8, 1322. A gentleman from Baldenhain was mentioned. In 1381 the place was under the Nöbdenitz manor .

There is a small St. Petrus church in Baldenhain . It was first mentioned in 1323 and is a branch church of Großenstein. It is a choir tower church with a Romanesque apse and a nave built in the 16th century .

100 people live in the former farming village.
