The Ballbek ( Danish Balbæk , also Ballebæk ) is a watercourse in Süderschmedebyfeld .

Linguistically, his name is made up of Danish. “Balle” for “long stretched” and “ Bek ” for “Bach”. The Ballbek originally rises in Norderholz and flows into the Dingwater Au after approx. 500 m . The "elongated" probably does not refer to the river, but to the elongated "Hoogebarg", which was destroyed by the exploitation of gravel.

The original source area has been canalized and straightened during the land consolidation .
