Bally Smart (actually: Mapidima Lesetja Smart ; born April 27, 1989 in Polokwane ) is a South African football player .
Career
The attacking midfielder began his footballing career at the age of 14 in England, where he played at the Norwich City youth academy . He made his debut for the professional team from Norwich in the 2006/07 second division season against Burnley FC on April 17, 2007, when he was substituted on in the 86th minute. Some time later Smart got his first professional contract with the "Canaries", but only for one season.
In 2007, Bally Smart was loaned to third division club Milton Keynes Dons for three months . During his time there, Smart made eight appearances under coach Paul Ince . After the contract with the club from the university town in the east of England ran out, the midfielder moved to Greece for the local second division AO Kerkyra . At the beginning of the season he was able to book his first appearances for the club from the island of Corfu . During the entire time there, Smart was mainly a supplementary player, of the total of 20 games he only played two from the start. Although they were promoted to the Super League , the contract was not extended.
In August 2010, Smart signed a contract with Charlton Athletic . The only game in the Athletic jersey made Smart in the Carling Cup against Shrewsbury Town and was replaced by Andy Reid after 59 minutes .
In March 2011, the South African signed a contract with the Latvian record champions Skonto Riga . He played his first game at the new club against new league player FB Gulbene in 2005 , where he came after the half-time break for Alans Siņeļņikovs . With the reigning champions, he started the 2011 season poorly and was only fourth with the team. After this season he left Discount and went back to South Africa to recommend himself for a contract with SuperSport United .
