Balveren ( Kurdish : Gundikê Melê ) is a small town ( Belediye ) in the Şırnak province in southeastern Turkey . Balveren is located in the central district of the province, off the road from Şırnak to Hakkari, approx. 11 km southeast of the provincial capital in a mountainous area.

The original name of the village was Gündükmolla, the Turkish version of "Gundike Mele" ("Village of the Mullah"). The place is known for its honey products (e.g. Turkish honey ). This fact was taken into account in the renaming (Balveren - honey-giving ).
