Bancroft Prize
The Bancroft Prize ( English Bancroft Prize ) is a literature and science award from Columbia University for books on American history and diplomacy history . The prize has been awarded since 1948 and is considered one of the most important prizes for American historiography.
It is named after the historian Frederic Bancroft (1860–1945).
