Barbara Höpping

Barbara Höpping (born January 21, 1946 in Dortmund ) is a German journalist .

After graduating from Schiller-Gymnasium Dortmund in 1966, Barbara Höpping studied theater studies, art history, German literature and philosophy at the University of Cologne. She switched to journalism after taking her intermediate examination. For over forty years she was in charge of the cultural department in the Lünen local editorial team of the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung / Westfälische Rundschau . Höpping also writes catalogs, municipal image publications and book projects.

In the years 2009–2013 Barbara Höpping was chairwoman of the Förderverein Theater Lünen eV On her initiative, the Förderverein organized the “Lüner Maskenball ” in the Venetian in the year 2010 as the cultural capital of the Ruhr area and in 2011 and 2013 in the foyer of the Heinz Hilpert Theater in Lünen Style. The three events received nationwide coverage in the press, radio and television.
