Barbara Teiber (born August 5, 1977 in Vienna ) is an Austrian trade unionist and politician ( SPÖ ). She has been federal chairwoman of the GPA-djp since June 2018 . From 2013 to 2018 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Life

Barbara Teiber was a student at Erlgasse grammar school . From 2001 to 2006 she was the women's secretary of the Private Employees Union (GPA) - Vienna. Afterwards she became political secretary of the chairman and in 2007 federal women secretary of the GPA-djp . Since March 2008 she has been the regional managing director of GPA-djp Vienna. Since 2015 she has been a member of the federal management of GPA-djp. Since June 2018 she has been federal chairwoman of the GPA-djp .

Since 2004 she has been a member of the Chamber of Labor in Vienna. From 2007 to 2010 she was a member of the board of AUVA . Furthermore, she has been Deputy Chairwoman of FSG Vienna since 2007, and has been co-opted since 2007. Member of the Vienna Women's Committee, since 2009 board member of the Vienna Chamber of Labor and in 2018 she was elected Vice-President of AK-Wien. Teiber has been a member of the board of the Vienna Regional Health Insurance Fund since 2010 .

In June 2018 she was succeeded by Michael Aichinger as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council. As federal chairwoman of the GPA-djp she succeeded Wolfgang Katzian .

Since April 1, 2019, she has been a member of the transition committee on the employee side and, from 2020, the administrative board of the newly founded Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK).
