Brassiepen is a location in the middle of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is in the north of the Lichtenplatz residential area in the Barmen district at an altitude of 254  m above sea level. NHN in the valley of the Auer Bach on the edge of the Kothener Busch on a branch path of the Oberbergische Straße . The Oberbergische Strasse sports facility is located near the village .

Neighboring locations are the locations and residential areas Am Christbusch , Dausendbusch , Kothen , Lichtscheid , Heide , Froweinbusch and Bireneichen .

history

Residential development was not built until the end of the 19th century, but the Brassiepen corridor already appears without residential development in the plan of the town of Barmen from 1863. On the measuring table sheet of Barmen from 1892, the place is shown together with several quarries, as well as on the Wuppertal city map from 1930.

In the 1950s, the sports field was laid out in the local area, under which the largest water tank of the Wuppertal public utility is located.
