Barbra Joan Streisand is a music album by Barbra Streisand .

history

With the album Barbra Joan Streisand Barbra Streisand already presented the second album in 1971. Barbra Streisand approaches the current pop music and interpreted three songs by Carole King , who had successfully presented her debut album Tapestry in the same year . Equally current songs are two songs by John Lennon from the 1970 LP John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band , which can definitely be described as a rarity in Barbra Streisand's repertoire. In addition to this song, the proven standard interpretations are on this LP. The medley from One Less Bell to Answer and A House is Not a Home should be considered an outstanding example . On this recording, Barbra Streisand sings a duet with herself and combines both songs into one.

The album reached eleventh place on the album hit parade as the highest ranking in the USA and, like every album by Streisand, was awarded a " gold record ". Barbra Streisand, on the other hand, rarely had success with single releases. Where You Lead by Carole King reached 40th place in the pop singles charts.
