Barbro Kvåle (born February 21, 1992 in Brandbu ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier and orienteer .

Career

Kvåle achieved a podium finish for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup in Nes in January 2012 with third place in the sprint. In March 2012, she made her debut in the cross-country skiing world cup at the sprint in Drammen , which she finished in 62nd place. In January 2013 Kvåle was seventh in the sprint at the U23 World Championships in Liberec and achieved another podium finish in the Scandinavian Cup in February with third place in the sprint in Inari . In December 2013, Kvåle succeeded again with second place in the sprint in Vuokatti . At the end of November 2014 she scored 15th place in the World Cup sprint in Ruka for the first time and achieved her first victory in the Scandinavian Cup on December 13, 2014 at the sprint in Lillehammer . At the U23 World Championships in Almaty in 2015 , Kvåle finished seventh in the sprint, became world champion in the 10 km freestyle and won the silver medal in skiathlon. At the end of the season she was fourth in the Scandinavian Cup overall standings. After finishing second over 10 km in the classic Scandinavian Cup in Vuokatti at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she finished in the top ten five more times. In March 2016 she came second in the mini tour in Otepää . She won the final stage and at the end of the season the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup.
