The peasantry ( Dutch buurtschap ) Barger-Erfscheidenveen is a hamlet in the municipality of Emmen in the Dutch province of Drenthe and belongs to the immediately adjacent town of Nieuw-Amsterdam .

Barger-Erfscheidenveen is located in the west of the municipality of Emmen. The German-Dutch border runs about eight kilometers south of the town. Rijksweg 37 runs south of the village . Just east is from Barger-Erfscheidenveen the Center Parcs Plant Parc Sandur .

The name suffix -veen (" Fenn ") refers to the moor landscape typical of the region , in which Barger-Erfscheidenveen is also located .

history

Barger-Erfscheidenveen emerged at the latest towards the end of the 19th century, when numerous settlements were founded in the region by the peat industry . In a census in 1943, 302 inhabitants were recorded for the place.
