  • The portal metalnews.de rated the album with five out of seven possible points:

“Here we rock away from the liver in a very cheeky and free way and completely without blinkers. So bluesy, jazzy, funky, Latin American folklore and and and are burned up that can make you dizzy. [...] “Barra Da Tijuca” is not a new ONKELZ album, but nobody expected that from the man who has been promoting for over two years that he doesn't want to do that. It's just a cool, cosmopolitan rock album [with a strong American list], which is ideal for sipping cocktails in beach bars or lounges or simply as relaxed background music without any hint of melancholy! • The portal powermetal.de received Barra da Tijuca , a positive:

“Roehr limits himself to casual mainstream rock with a strong tendency towards classic American radio sound. Cool guitars, small excursions in the direction of jazz and blues and an incredibly relaxed sound create astonishment, and sometimes astonishment. The guitarist sprays a real firework of snappy melodies. [...] "Barra Da Tijuca" is developing more and more into a typical guitar album full of variations and ideas, without becoming the protagonist's personal ego trip. Roehr shines with seemingly spontaneous play, cheeky riffs, cool licks and interesting Latin American influences. "
