Barret Oliver

Barret Oliver (* 24. August 1973 in Los Angeles , California ; actually Barrett Spencer Oliver ) is an American film actor and photographer .

Life

Oliver had his best-known role in The Neverending Story (1984), where he played the main character "Bastian Balthasar Bux". Also worth mentioning are the science fiction films DARYL - the Extraordinary (1985), Cocoon (1985) and Cocoon II - The Return (1988).

The grown-up Oliver could not build on the successes as a child star . Managed by his mother, Kathy, he appeared in the television series Knight Rider and Unknown Dimensions (The Twilight Zone) , and in 1989 he was in front of the camera for the last time in the comedy Luxus, Sex und Lotterleben .

He then appeared in commercials - including for McDonald’s and Visa Card .

Barret Oliver studied photography with Cole Weston and George Tice , among others, and taught in Los Angeles himself from February 2004. His work is the subject of numerous exhibitions in museums.

He was involved as a still photographer in the feature film Cold Mountain .
