occupation

Inspector Hooperman (English Hooperman ) is an American television series with John Ritter in the title role, which was produced from 1987 to 1989 by ABC . In the 42-episode series, Ritter played civilian policeman Harry Hooperman .

action

After the popular elderly owner of a house in San Francisco is murdered by a burglar, Hooperman inherits the run-down house, with the condition that her policeman-hating Jack Russell dog lady Bijoux be taken care of . Due to his work as a police officer, he has little time to look after the house and there are often confrontations with the tenants and his property manager Susan Smith , with whom a romance develops over the course of the series. One of the supporting characters is the gay cop Rick Silardi.

background

The crime series developed by Steven Bochco (including Hill Street Police Station , LA Law - star lawyers, tricks, trials , New York Cops - NYPD Blue ) and Terry-Louise Fisher ( LA Law ) has a familiar character and often pointed storylines. Therefore the series is assigned to the series type of dramedy ; a mixture of dra ma (or thriller) and comedy (engl. co medy ).
