Paul Lynch

Paul Lynch (born November 6, 1946 in Liverpool , England ) is a British-Canadian director .

Life and accomplishments

Lynch was born in the UK and moved to Canada in 1960 . He dropped out of school, drew newspaper cartoons for the Toronto Star , then worked as a newspaper photographer and eventually turned to film directing. His first feature film was the drama Weg ohne Ziel (1973). He then directed the slasher film Prom Night with Leslie Nielsen and Jamie Lee Curtis . In his approximately 25-year career, Lynch directed around 60 projects, switching between feature films, television films and television series.

At the 1986 Berlin International Film Festival he was nominated for the Golden Bear for Mania - American Tales of Terror . He received Gemini Award nominations in 1992, 1993 and 1995 for directing The Beauty Prize , Top Cops and Robocop . In 1999 he won the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival for More to Love .
