content

In 1974 the four children Wendy Richards, Jude Cunningham, Kelly Lynch and Nick McBride play hide and seek in an old, broken school house. When the younger Robin Hammond arrives, they frighten her until she falls out the window and dies. Although it was an accident, the children make a pact never to reveal anything.

Six years later, the school is preparing for prom. The four youths are threatened by a mysterious voice on a phone call demanding revenge for what happened six years ago. There are also many threat scenarios at school: photos of the deceased appear and a mirror breaks. In the meantime, the sex criminal who was blamed for the tragic death has escaped from his detention center.

On the dance evening, Kelly's throat is cut while applying makeup. Jude and her boyfriend Seymour "Slick" Crane are killed in a smack in a Slick's van. Next, Wendy becomes the killer's victim. Nick, who is now with Robin's sister Kim, should be done at the award ceremony. However, as the well-known rowdy Lou knocks down Nick, Nick becomes the victim of the killer instead. A mass panic ensues and Nick and Kim are confronted with the killer alone. Finally, Kim manages to seriously injure the killer. With the last of his strength he can drag himself to the door where he dies. It's about Alex, Robin's brother, who watched everything at the time and avenged her.

criticism

Lexicon of international films : Solidly made horror thriller, which derives its entertainment value primarily from the clever “Who is the culprit?” Dramaturgy.

Sequels

So far, three sequels have been filmed that have nothing to do with the original plot. In 2008 a remake of the first part was made.

Mary Lou (1987)

In the film (Original title: Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II ), Mary Lou Maloney is accidentally killed by her boyfriend in 1957 when he tries to play a prank on her. 30 years later, however, she is accidentally resurrected by a girl named Vicki. From now on she seeks revenge in Vicki's body. Directed by Bruce Pittman , actors including Michael Ironside , Wendy Lyon , Louis Ferreira and Lisa Schrage appear.

Prom Night III - The Final Chapter (1990)

The film (original title: Prom Night 3: The Last Kiss ) is the sequel to Prom Night 2 . Mary Lou returns from the dead again. She falls in love with a boy who is not particularly popular. She then kills the people who stand in the way of his career.

Prom Night III will be a mixture of zombie movie and High School - Comedy described. Directed by Ron Oliver and Peter R. Simpson , the actors include Tim Canlon and Courtney Taylor . The film was released on DVD, but its poor quality has been heavily criticized.

Prom Night: Evil of Darkness (1992)

The film (original title: Prom Night 4: Deliver Us from Evil , also: Prom Night - Das Böse aus den Dunkel) is about a clergyman who is locked in a burial chamber by his colleagues because he is said to be possessed by the devil. He later manages to escape and begins killing teenagers who are having sex. Directed by Clay Borris , the actors include Nicole de Boer and JH Wyman .
