Barry Maguire (born October 27, 1989 in Tiel ) is a Dutch football player with Irish roots.
Career
society
Maguire played for a local club in his home town before being spotted by FC Den Bosch scouts . Eventually this lured him to Den Bosch, where he was promoted to the club's professional squad at the age of 17. In September 2006, the defensive midfielder made his professional debut against FC Dordrecht . Already in the starting line-up, he played the full 90 minutes at his premiere. After two good years in the Eerste Divisie , FC Utrecht signed him. In the Eredivisie representative Maguire came to eighteen league appearances in the first year. At FCU he still had a contract until 2012, but will switch to VVV-Venlo for the 2011/12 season .
National team
Maguire is entitled to play for the Irish and Dutch national teams. He already played for the youth teams of both countries, but recently preferred the Orange . On January 27, 2009 he received an invitation for the Irish U-21 for the first time , but declined the following day.
