Barry Lee Miller (born February 6, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Barry Miller was born the son of actor and director Sidney Miller (1916-2004) and talent agent Iris Burton (1930-2008). Miller's former stepmother is the actress Dorothy Green (1920–2008). He attended Bancroft Junior High School in Hollywood , California.

In the early 1970s Miller took on his first minor roles in film and television. He became known in 1977 for the film Saturday Night Fever , in which his character falls from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge in a drunken and depressed state . He then played a number of sensitive young men in Hollywood films, including Fame and Peggy Sue Got Married . Miller won the 1985 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Arnold Epstein in the theatrical version of Biloxi Blues .
