Baskim Sopi

Baskim Sopi (born December 12, 1972 ) is a former North Macedonian football player . The defender played much of his career in Sweden .

Athletic career

Sopi came to IFK Malmö in Sweden from FK Sloga Jugomagnat Skopje in 1998 . With the club he missed the end of 1999 qualification for the newly introduced Superettan as the second highest division, in which he rose with the team in the following season. Here he was one of the top performers, so that at the end of 2002 he moved to the first division promoted Enköpings SK . At the same time he played his way into the Macedonian national team , for which he - after 15 junior selection games - played three internationals . In the Allsvenskan he played 20 games for his new club, which, however, had no chance in the 2003 season and was directly relegated at the bottom. He then fell out with his agent, so that he switched to the then fourth division MABI . In 2006 he moved for one season to the Norwegian club Raufoss IL in the Adeccoligaen , but returned after one season. After his return, he rose with the team in the third division Division 1 , where the club missed the direct march into the second division in the 2008 season level on points with the table runner-up Östers IF in fourth. While the club then renamed itself FC Rosengård , Sopi increasingly moved into the second row due to injury. At the end of 2010, he ended his higher-class playing career and moved to the club as an assistant on the coaching bench.

At the same time, Sopi switched to sixth division KSF Prespa Birlik as a player , with whom he then almost marched through the leagues and rose to third division at the end of 2015. He had given up his assistant coach position at FC Rosengård at the end of 2013. At the end of 2014 he ended his active career and switched to the coaching staff. At the beginning of 2016, he joined the fifth division IF Limhamn Bunkeflo again as a player at the age of 43.
