Bato Tomašević
Nebojša "Bato" Tomašević ( Cyrillic Небојша Бато Томашевић ; born November 9, 1929 in Kosovska Mitrovica ; † April 15, 2017 in Exeter , England ) was the author of various publications and one of the survivors of British European Airways flight 609 . Among other things, he was a Yugoslav diplomat , editor-in-chief of the magazine Jugoslovenska revija (Yugoslav Revue) and director of the television channel YUTEL .
Life
Tomašević graduated from the University of Belgrade in 1952 and then studied from 1953 to 1955 at the University of Exeter in England .
After returning to Yugoslavia, he became editor-in-chief of the magazine Jugoslovenska revija ( Yugoslav Review ) in Belgrade . In the 1970s he wrote numerous books, mostly about naive art . Together with Oto Bihalji-Merin , he published the Enciklopedija naivne umetnosti sveta in 1984 , which has been translated into several languages, including English and German.
family
Tomašević's older brother Dušan was a partisan in World War II and was killed by Chetniks during fighting in Bosnia . His sister Stana Tomašević was also a partisan, as well as a politician and ambassador.
