The farmstead at Dorfstrasse 44 is a listed building ensemble in the Hohenbucko community on the western edge of the Rochauer Heide in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg . It is listed as a landmark building in the local monument register under registration number 09135630.

Building description and history

The two-storey plastered house on this striking farmhouse was built between the years 1751 and 1800. It is a half-timbered building with a half-hipped roof. The main entrance to the building was laid out in the middle. On the ground floor there is a front hall, a back hall widening like a board, several rooms, a chamber and a kitchen with an associated pantry. There are several living rooms and servants' rooms on the upper floor, and a smokehouse in the attic . The wrought iron fence surrounding the front garden dates from around 1900.

Another protected building that belongs to the homestead is a historic pigeon tower , which dates back to the second half of the 19th century. The two-storey brick building was provided with a pyramid roof, on which there is a square roof turret, also provided with a pyramid roof, which served as a dovecote. In addition to being used as a dovecote, the building also served as a feed store. A toilet is also installed on the ground floor .

Another remarkable feature is the field stone paving of the historic farm.

Other attractions of the place include the village church , the parsonage , the Hohenbuckoer Oberförsterei , the Lochmühle and a post mile column .
