Building description and history

The chief forestry department in Hohenbucko was established in 1889 as the Royal Prussian Forestry Office . The house is a brick building with a high jamb and a gable roof . The building has, among other things, a symmetrical facade structured with brick décor and cornices, as well as an entrance veranda with a dwelling . Inside there is a large transverse corridor from which the living and office rooms extend. In the attic there is a smokehouse in addition to gable rooms and chambers .

In the period that followed, further buildings were built on the property. The remise , which faces the street, is a gable -facing brick building with a gable roof and segment-arched wall openings. It is dated to the year 1900. There is also a historic, free-standing bakery in the garden of the property . This building was also built around 1900, was equipped with a gable roof and is a single-storey exposed brick building. The Samendarr barn from the same time, which once belonged to the head forester's office, is a two-story boarded timber frame building, which is located on a brick foundation. The gable roof of the barn was covered with heart tiles. However, the operation of this facility ceased after only a little over two decades in 1925.

Other attractions of the place include the Hohenbuckoer village church , the rectory , the Lochmühle , a former large farm in Dorfstraße 44 and a post mile column . Further sights can be found in the Proßmarke district with the local village church and a listed residential building .
