The former farmer's mill in Uetersen

The so-called Bauernmühle is a listed building in Uetersen and is located on the banks of the Pinnau .

The building is a six-storey brick building in the style of the 1920s. What is striking about the building are the carefully articulated window structures, separated by wall projections and cornices. The northern end of the building has a dominant effect on the main street. The building rests on one hundred reinforced concrete piles that were driven seventeen meters into the earth. The building was built in 1924 according to the plans of the Pinneberg architect Klaus Groth (1893–1979) on behalf of the Schleswig-Holstein Farmers' Association. The farmer's mill was equipped with a pneumatic suction system with an hourly output of 22.5 tons for loading ships and a mill with four grist passages. The integrated silos had a total capacity of 1000 tons of grain. In 1939, Nordmark Arzneimittelwerke bought the disused mill building. Until 2005 it housed a company health insurance fund and otherwise serves as a warehouse .

The building is due to its architectural and historical value as an industrial monument and cultural heritage under monument protection .
