Baumschlager Eberle Architects are an international architecture firm with 11 offices in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Vietnam and China. Founded in 1985 in Vorarlberg, Austria, the office today has around 250 employees from 20 countries.

history

In 1985 Dietmar Eberle founded the Baumschlager Eberle architectural office in Vorarlberg, Austria , together with Carlo Baumschlager . In the first fifteen years, Baumschlager Eberle's work focused on contemporary residential construction.

Initially with a focus on the Vorarlberg region, from 1995 they also realized public buildings such as the community hall in Mäder, Austria (1995), the headquarters of Saeco in Lustenau near Bregenz, Austria, (1998), the parish home in Satteins, Austria (1996 ), the Achpark business park in Lauterach, Austria, (1998) and the city ​​hotel Martinspark in Dornbirn, Austria (1996). In addition to the founding office in Lochau near Bregenz, Austria, the first branch was established in Vaduz, Liechtenstein in 1999. In 2001 another office location was added in Vienna, Austria. This was followed by successive offices in St. Gallen (2006), Zurich (2007), Hong Kong (2008) and Berlin (2010).

In 1999 Dietmar Eberle was appointed full professor of architecture and design at the ETH Zurich . Carlo Baumschlager left the office in 2010. As internationalization progresses, further offices are set up in Hanoi (2011), Paris (2012), Hamburg (2013), Krakow (PL), Saigon (2015) and Shanghai (2016).

Baumschlager Eberle is one of the co-founders of the Vorarlberg architects . To date, the office has completed more than 400 buildings. The most recent major projects include the AZ Groeninge hospital in Kortrijk, Belgium, the university building "La Maison du Savoir" in Esch-sur Alzette, Luxembourg (2015), and the new building of the Palace of Justice in the northern French city of Caen (2015).
