Baxter Park is a park in the Scottish city ​​of Dundee in the council area of the same name .

Baxter Park, covering around 15  hectares , is located between Baxter Park Terrace , Arbroath Road , Dalkeith Road and Pitkerro Road in the Craigiebank district east of central Dundee. The line producer David Baxter, 1st Baronet donated the park named after him along with his two sisters of the city of Dundee. The park was laid out according to a plan by Joseph Paxton and opened on September 9, 1863. The construction cost is believed to have been around £ 50,000. A few years later, the Morgan Academy was initially opened as a hospital on the northern edge of Baxter Park .

In 2007 Baxter Park was reopened after a restoration. Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh were present at the ceremony. In 2009, several physical attacks and thefts were reported in the park, whereupon security measures were tightened.

In the middle of the park is the Baxter Park Pavilion. The neo-renaissance building was designed by Paxton's nephew George Henry Stokes . Its south-facing main facade is seven axes wide. Along the five-axis wide loggia, the round arches with ornamented keystones rest on groups of four Doric columns. Square corner projections flanked by Ionic pilasters . While they are designed with arched windows on the south facade, only blind arched frames can be found on the side facades. A balustrade lined with obelisks completes the facade. An arcade runs along the north facade .

In 1963 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.
