Bayfield is a city located in La Plata County in the US state of Colorado is located. According to the 2010 US Census , the city has a total population of 2,333 people.

School sports
The high school is known for its football program . Wrestling , basketball, athletics, and cross-country running are other sports that boys can practice. Girls play volleyball, football and basketball. They can also take part in cross-country running and athletics and take part in the national cheerleading championships. The rivalry between the Bayfield's Wolverines and the Ignacio's Bobcats (from the Ute reserve south of Bayfield) is known locally.
