Beata Maria Virgo
Beata Maria Virgo is the Latin name for the Blessed Virgin Mary . This Marian title goes back to the hymn of praise to Mary in the Magnificat ( Luke 1.48 EU ): beatam me dicent omnes generationes , “from now on all sexes will praise me blessed”.
The genitive Beatae Mariae Virginis (abbreviation BMV or BMV ) often appears in the Latin names of festivals - for example in festo annuntiationis BMV , Exspectatio Partus Beatae Mariae Virginis , Praesentatio Beatae Mariae Virginis and Festum Beatae Mariae Virginis a Rosario - or in the patronage of churches
