The Beaufort River is a 38 miles long river in the Local Government Area Shire of West Arthur in the Wheatbelt Region in the Australian state of Western Australia .

Its headwaters are west of Woodanilling . It flows west to its confluence with the Arthur River near Duranillin .

history
John Septimus Roe , the surveyor general of Western Australia, named the Beaufort River in 1835 after his friend Sir Francis Beaufort , who worked as a hydrographer for the Admiralty .
