The residential building Beethovenstraße 8 is located in the Am Wasserturm district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
The house was built in 1912. It was entered under No. B 151 on March 28, 1995 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
architecture
In the outskirts of the residential area south of the Colorful Garden there is a two-storey plastered building on a rectangular floor plan with an extended mansard floor. Above a highly developed basement (basalt lava), the facade is clad in expensive natural stone ( sandstone ).
Asymmetrical facade structuring with emphasis on the entrance axis (left) by means of a bay window open on three sides and a broad mid- house . Irregular window structure with rectangular windows with varying proportions. The two window openings on the ground floor are uniformly rectangular; The three-part window on the upper floor is wider. In the tympanum two identically formulated openings; In the roof area to the right there is a dormer window with a window of the same size. The restrained Steinmetz ornamentation is limited to the parapets of the bay windows and a single decorative motif in the gable field. About a widely projecting Traufgesims includes slated mansard roof from the building.
