action

The body of a transsexual is found in the small town of LeSalle, Louisiana near New Orleans . Local Sheriff Darl Hardwick is investigating the case. Since the local political and economic giants are striving to build a casino in LeSalle and also new elections - u. a. of the sheriff's office - waiting, the judge advises him to keep the so-called "hermaphrodite murder" out of the press. Scarlett, the widow of the murdered, wants to know what happened and begins to investigate on her own.

Hardwick developed a strong personal interest in the pretty Scarlett. Encouraged by the increasing pressure on him to let the case rest, which even costs him his post, he realizes that there may be more to the murder than meets the eye (even the governor of Louisiana is brought into play). He begins to investigate himself to solve the murder. At the end of the film, he finally clears up the case with the help of Scarlett. A moronic gas station tenant is convicted of a murder.
