The True dwarf daisy ( Bellium bellidioides L.), also Spatelgänseblümchen called, is a plant species in the genus dwarf daisy ( Bellium ) from the family of the daisy family (Asteraceae).

description

The perennial herbaceous plant reaches heights of 5 to 15 centimeters. The spatulate , balding leaves narrowing into a long stem are in a basal rosette . The plant has thin runners above ground .

The flower head has a diameter of 8 to 15 millimeters and sits on a delicate stem. The 10 to 14 obtuse or acute, hairy bracts are arranged in a row. The just as many, barely longer, white ray-florets are covered with red underneath and surround the yellow tubular florets . The fruit is an achenes and has five rough bristles with a ring of membranous scales.

Flowering time is from April to August.

The chromosome number is for Bellium bellidioides var. Villosum Porta 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The true dwarf daisy is only found in Corsica , Sardinia and the Balearic Islands .

This plant species prefers shady, moist rocks and pastures as a location.
