Ben Ferguson (born January 21, 1995 in Boise ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Ferguson has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2008 . He won his first win in January 2010 at the Burton AM Series on Mount Hood . In the 2010/11 season he won Enter the Dragon Series competitions. At the North Tahoe Series, he finished twice in second and once in first place. After finishing third at the beginning of the 2011/12 season in the halfpipe competition on the US Revolution Tour in Copper Mountain , he won the silver medal in slopestyle and the gold medal in the halfpipe competition at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck . He made his World Cup debut in January 2013 at Copper Mountain . He achieved 84th place in slopestyle and 25th place on the halfpipe. In March 2013 he won the halfpipe at the US Revolution Tour in Sun Valley . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he came third in the half-pipe competition at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and World Cup races in Copper Mountain . This was followed by fifth place on the halfpipe at the Winter X Games 2014 in Aspen and fourth place at the Burton US Open in Vail . At the end of the season, he finished 18th in the Freestyle World Cup, eighth in the World Snowboard Tour overall ranking and fifth in the World Snowboard Tour halfpipe ranking. In the 2014/15 season he took third place at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and World Cup races in Copper Mountain and 12th place in the halfpipe competition at the 2015 Winter X Games . The following year he finished second on the halfpipe at the 2016 Winter X Games and the Burton US Open. He took seventh place at the Winter X Games 2017 .

In the 2017/18 season, Ferguson took second place at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and World Cup in Copper Mountain and the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Mammoth and third place at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge . At the end of January 2018 he won the bronze medal at the Winter X Games . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished fourth in the halfpipe.
