Benedict To Varpin
Benedict To Varpin (born July 24, 1936 in Volavolo ) is retired Archbishop of Madang .
Life
Benedict To Varpin was ordained a priest on January 24, 1971 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Rabaul .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Bereina on October 30, 1979. The episcopal ordination donated him the bishop emeritus of Bereina, Louis Vangeke MSC , on March 19, 1980; Co- consecrators were George To Bata , Auxiliary Bishop in Rabaul, and Firmin Martin Schmidt OFMCap , Bishop of Mendi .
On January 26, 1987, John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Panama. After retirement, Leo Clement Andrew Arkfelds SVD he followed this on 31 December 1987 in the office of the Archbishop of Madang.
On July 24, 2001, John Paul II accepted his resignation.
