Benjamin Schreiter
Benjamin Schreiter (* before 1752) was a German sculptor and plasterer who worked in Bavaria during the Rococo period .
Benjamin Schreiter (also Schreidter or Schretter) lived in Hengersberg . He was consistently active in Eastern Bavaria . He was responsible for the stucco (1757) as well as the altars and pulpit of the parish church of Thundorf, built in 1735/60 . In 1756 he created the altars and pulpit of the parish church in Kirchdorf im Wald , in 1764 the pulpit and the two side altars of the parish church in Frauenau and in 1770 six silver-plated candlesticks for the branch church in Haardorf .
Also for the church in Haardorf he made a statue of John of Nepomuk and the representation of the Mount of Olives in 1771. Together with Lorenz Schreiter from Hengersberg, he created the stucco work in the Deggendorf hospital church . Schreiter also designed the altar for the branch church in Rabenstein , which originally stood in a side chapel of Niederaltaich monastery that was demolished during the secularization .
The Thundorf organ case, the stucco work of the Haardorf pilgrimage church , the altars and pulpit of the Lalling parish church (1752–54) and the high altar of the Rinchnach monastery are attributed to him .
