Benjamin Stauder (born October 30, 1987 in Kirchzarten ) is a German racing cyclist .

Career

Stauder started cycling in 2001 at RV Stegen. In 2006 he spent a year in the U23 Radbundesligateam Rothaus from Emmendingen before 2007 at the Swiss continental team Atlas Romer's House Bakery his first contract with an international cycling team had. For the 2008 season he moved to the new Swiss team Stegcomputer-CKT , for which he achieved his first international victory in the adult division on March 15, 2008 at the first stage of the Tour of Libya .

Stauder has been racing for RV Stegen again since 2014 and was able to win a stage at the Tour du Cameroun and finish the race in second overall, six seconds behind the winner Dan Craven . Due to these successes, he was able to become the best-placed Elite A rider in the annual ranking of the Association of German Cyclists in 2014 with 32nd place .

In addition to cycling, Stauder is studying international management for top athletes in Ansbach and worked as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg in 2014 . He completed a practical semester at the Bavarian bike manufacturer Corratec . He is also building an elite cycling team at his hometown club RV Stegen .

Benjamin Stauder achieved his greatest success in 2017. After winning a stage on the Tour de Tunisie of the UCI Africa Tour , he won five stages on the Tour du Faso . On the 5th to the 7th stage he rode for three days in the yellow jersey of the overall leader. In the end, he won the points for the green jersey.
