Corratec is a German bicycle and motor vehicle manufacturer based in Raubling , Bavaria , supplier to the German Ski Association and the Corratec amateur cycling team .

Products

At the beginning of the company's history, in addition to trading in sporting goods, there was also the production of skis, which was discontinued a few years later after the company had increasingly concentrated on the bicycle and parts trade. With the emergence of Corratec as an independent bicycle manufacturer, the company occupied a wide variety of sectors with its products. This initially included mountain bikes and racing bikes, which still play a key role in the product range today. Over time, this was expanded with the introduction of cross bikes, city and trekking bikes, pedelecs and e-bikes. Furthermore, Corratec took up the individual one-off production of bicycles in cooperation with the bicycle frame manufacturer Mauro Sannino and has since then been offering bicycles in the higher price segment, the frames are manufactured individually according to customer requirements.

history

In 1970 Konrad Irlbacher Senior founded the IKO sports retailer in Rosenheim . Initially he produced and sold skis under the brand of the same name. In 1978 his son Konrad Irlbacher joined the company and began selling bikes and spare parts. Initially, the company acted as a dealer and importer of Italian brands. Under the brand name corratec , based on "Corrado", which stands for Konrad in Italian , the company had the first wheels produced from 1988, which are still sold today. In 1992 Corratec expanded and moved to the neighboring Raubling.

Corratec has been working with the bicycle frame builder Mauro Sannino since 2004 to manufacture bicycles individually to customer specifications. In 2015 the family company celebrated its 25th anniversary.
