Günter Krautscheid

Günter Krautscheid (* 1942 ) is a bicycle manufacturer and former racing cyclist from Bochum .

Günter Krautscheid drove bike races from 1953 to 1966 and made it into the amateur national team .

After his retirement from active cycling he trained for locksmiths and welders further and founded in 1977 in Bochum district Stiepel a cycling shop in which he from the beginning own bicycle frames under the brand Krabo made (from "Krautscheid Bochum"). The production of his frame manufacture is around 120 frames a year.

Krautscheid's frames are made of steel , aluminum , carbon fiber reinforced plastic and titanium . Krautscheid manufactures frames for racing and for several years also high-quality trekking and travel frames. Only pipe sets from the Italian company Columbus are used. Krautscheid bicycles are known nationwide, and prominent former professional cyclists such as Erik Zabel and Rolf Aldag are also among the customers.

He is co-founder and 1st chairman of the cycling club Bochum 1987 eV In this function he is committed to cycling in Bochum and, as the organizer of the "Großer Preis der CREDITREFORM", is responsible for the racing events at the event.
