Puky , spelling PUKY , is a medium-sized German manufacturer of children's vehicles based in Wülfrath (near Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia). Puky products are located in the consumer goods industry . The product range includes sliding vehicles , wheels , tricycles , scooters , go-carts and children's bikes and accessories.

The independent company employs over 100 people at the Wülfrath location. In addition, more than 400 people with different degrees of disability work for Puky in a total of 10 workshops.

history

Within Schlessmann GmbH, which the former NSU general representative Hermann Schlessmann had founded in Düsseldorf, the “PUCK Children's Vehicles” department was founded in 1949 at the suggestion of Heinz Kuchenbecker.

Initially, they mainly produced high-quality balloon scooters and children's bicycles, later also tricycles and go- karts . The company was represented for the first time at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 1950 with balloon rollers . In 1950 the independent company "PUCK GmbH Fahrzeugfabrik" was founded.

In 1956 the word mark “PUCK” was changed to “PUKY” because of its similarity to the Austrian Steyr Daimler PUCH AG , which is related to the industry .

In 1958 the company relocated its production from Düsseldorf to Wülfrath. First in the middle of the city center, then in 1991 in the nearby industrial area "Zur Fliethe".

At this location, Puky still has a plot of around 27,000 m² and a production and storage area of 8,100 m². The children's vehicle specialist develops, designs and manufactures its vehicles here.

In 2008, the son of co-founder Heinz Kuchenbecker, Rolf Kuchenbecker, retired from the management.

In 2013, another construction phase was completed to expand the assembly and storage areas. Today Mathias Heller is the sole managing director of the company.
