Stevens Bikes is a German bicycle manufacturer based in Hamburg . The product range includes road bikes , cyclocross bikes , hybrid bikes , road bikes , mountain bikes , pedelecs and fast e-bikes and children's bikes.

History and products

In 1994 the company was founded as Stevens Vertriebs GmbH by Werner and Wolfgang von Hacht, two former road racing drivers , in Hamburg . The “STEVENS Bikes” brand has existed since 1991. Both of them had previously run a bicycle dealership in the Hamburg district of Eppendorf . In 1999 they bought company premises in the Hamburg district of Billstedt , which is the headquarters of Stevens Vertriebs GmbH . Sales, marketing and development of the company, which employs around 60 people at its home site, are also located there. Since August 1st, 2016 Fred Schierenbeck has taken over the management of Werner von Hacht and continues the business together with Wolfgang von Hacht. Werner von Hacht remains with the company as founder and partner. Other employees work in the international office in Asia, where they take care of the purchase of various components and their quality assurance . Most of the production takes place in assembly companies in Germany, where more than 100 employees are employed, as well as in the European Union. Some entry-level models are assembled in Southeast Asia.

The product range of Stevens Bikes belong racing bikes , trekking bikes and cross bikes , city bikes and mountain bikes . In addition to the Stevens bikes , the company has developed its own brand Oxygen , which includes various frame components, such as stems, handlebars, seat posts and saddles. The Stevens Bikes brand is sold internationally in numerous countries, including Switzerland , the Netherlands , Austria , France , Belgium , Luxembourg , the Czech Republic , Denmark , Spain , Poland and Slovenia .

The bikes are sold in Germany and Austria exclusively through specialist dealers. Between 2010 and 2014, Stevens Bikes was voted the most attractive brand in Germany four times by bicycle dealers in the specialist magazine SAZ-Bike. In the TrekkingBIKE reader survey conducted by Delius Klasing Verlag , the brand took the top spot for “possession” and “purchase intent” six times in a row.

Sports funding

The company is a material sponsor of various cycling teams. In the 2016 season in cyclocross, this includes the teams Beobank-Corendon (2015 with cross-world champion Mathieu van der Poel ), ERA-Circus, Enertherm-BKCP with world champion (2017) Sanne Cant and U19 world and European champion Jens Dekker, as well as the own works team Stevens Racing Team. In road racing, the Continental Team Vorarlberg drives Stevens Xenon. The women's cycling team maxx-solar Cycling starts in the cycling Bundesliga on Stevens bikes. The Danish MTB marathon champion Sören Nissen and the STEVENS MTB Racing Team take part in mountain bike races . Stevens equips numerous triathletes, including Ricarda Lisk and Jonas Schomburg. In addition, Stevens Bikes equips numerous other athletes together with its specialist dealers. Stevens Vertriebs GmbH is the main sponsor of the Stevens Cyclocross Cup , a regional cyclo-cross racing series in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony.
