history

Bicycles have been produced since 1895. In 1899 the name was changed to Bielefelder Maschinen- und Fahrradwerke AG, August Göricke . From 1903 motorcycles were also produced. In 1921 it was renamed Görickewerke AG

A year after the bankruptcy in 1929, a German-Dutch consortium NVTE (Naam Looze Vennootschap tot Exploitatieder Göricke Fabrieken) bought the company, which then operated as a GmbH. In October 1941, after the merger with Maschinen- und Apparatebau Erich Nippel, the name was changed to Göricke-Fahrrad- und Maschinenfabrik, Nippel & Co. Since 1964, the Göricke brand has been produced by Pantherwerke AG (Löhne).

Bicycles with cardan drive have been produced since 1899 . From 1932 bicycles made of duralumin followed . The company also manufactured mopeds and motorcycles. The product range extended up to 500 cm³ machines. In the period from the 1950s onwards, Göricke mostly built engines from the Schweinfurt-based Fichtel - & - Sachs group and from JLO with displacements from 50 to 200 cm³.

Former automobile manufacturer

Between 1906 and 1908 the company also manufactured three-wheeled automobiles . The model from 1906 to 1907 was called the motor tricycle . It was technically a motorcycle with a preload car, making it a tricar . The front passenger seat was between the two wheels. A V2 engine is mentioned - a four-stroke engine from Fafnir . It was air-cooled and had a displacement of 425 cc . On this basis there were also rear plug-in wagons.

The Göricke car followed between 1907 and 1908 . It had one front and two rear wheels. The same engine as before, now specified with 5 HP , was mounted behind the front wheel and drove the rear wheels via a chain. Above the rear axle was a bench for two people. Was steered with a steering wheel.

In 1950 cargo tricycles with a rear single wheel and a front loading box were manufactured. They had a single - cylinder two-stroke engine with a capacity of 47 cm³ and 1.5 hp from Fichtel & Sachs.
