Imperator was a German car brand.
Company history
Albert Michaelis and Fritz Ebner founded the Michaelis & Ebner automobile works in 1899 . The company's headquarters were at Kurfürstendamm 217 in Berlin . In 1904, the company set up an assembly and repair workshop at Kurfürstendamm 93–95. A metal foundry was located at Koloniestraße 57. In the same year, the import of Locomobile vehicles began. In 1905 the production of automobiles began . The brand name was Imperator . In September 1905, the company moved to Streustraße 31 in Berlin-Weißensee . Shortly afterwards, Michaelis left the company. Financial problems led to the end of the company. It was disbanded in May 1906.

Steam cars were initially built, but they were unsuccessful. In the same year, the gasoline-powered models 10 hp with a two-cylinder engine and 16 hp with a four-cylinder engine came onto the market. They had self-developed motors and cardan drives . The vehicles were available as passenger cars , taxis and delivery vans .
