Kempten was a German automobile brand. The company Süddeutsche Fahrzeugfabrik München / Kempten GmbH in Kempten (Allgäu) manufactured automobiles at the beginning of the 20th century . Several sources agree that the construction period was between 1900 and 1901. Another source mentions 1901 to 1902. An older source states, deviatingly imprecisely, that production began between 1901 and 1905 and ended between 1906 and 1910. The company was based at Bahnhofstrasse 56 .

The only vehicle model from the Süddeutsche Fahrzeugfabrik was a small car . The car was powered by a self-made gasoline engine with an output of three hp . Another source states that it was a single-cylinder engine that was sourced from France and suggests De Dion-Bouton or the Werner brothers as the manufacturer. According to this source, the engine power is said to have been transmitted to the drive axle by means of belts. The petrol tank held eight liters. The maximum speed was given as 30 km / h. According to a source, these were Renault models that were built under license.

The company also manufactured agricultural machinery .

The final deletion due to the liquidation of the company took place in 1906.
