Company history

The company Weidaer Automobilwerke Schmidt & Kellner from Weida was under the management of Mr. Schmidt and Georg Kellner. The entry in the trade register of the city of Weida took place on June 8, 1905. The aim of the company was the production of automobiles. The brand name was Taifun . In 1907 the company went bankrupt . Georg Kellner took over the liquidation assets and founded his company Georg Kellner, automotive and mechanical engineering , on May 9, 1908 , which was dissolved at the end of 1909.

Small cars were on offer . The 8/10 HP model had a two-cylinder engine . In the 10/12 PS one made four-cylinder engine for the drive.

Production and sales abroad

A source states that the company planned to build the vehicles but did not do it. Another source states that while the company sold the vehicles, it is unclear whether the company made the vehicles. The third source explicitly states that Bowle Evans of Regent Street in London sold the vehicles.
