The Westfälische Automobilgesellschaft Bernhard Feldmann & Co. was a car accessories dealer and automobile manufacturer in Soest . The agency for Fafnir engine kits under the name Omnimobil also produced passenger cars from 1905.
The Feldmann Mermaid had a two-cylinder -Blockmotor of Fafnir with 804 cc displacement and a power of 6 hp (4.4 kW) at 1800 min -1 . The engine power of the four-seater torpedo was transmitted to the rear wheels via a three-speed gearbox and chains . The achievable maximum speed was 50 km / h.
As a result, cars with four-cylinder engines were built , in 1910 a 6/20 hp and in 1911 an 8/40 hp and a 10/25 hp . The 8/40 PS had an engine with a displacement of 2120 cm³, developed 40 PS (29 kW) and reached a top speed of 100 km / h.
In 1912 the automobile production was stopped, but the 8/40 hp sports car still competed successfully in hill climbs in 1920 and 1921.
