Falke & Co. was a bicycle and automobile manufacturer based in Mönchengladbach . The bicycle factory founded by Albert Falke in 1889 also manufactured passenger cars from 1896.
description
First a three-wheeler and a four-wheeled Voiturette with De Dion-Bouton engines were built. The tricycle had one front and two rear wheels. The single - cylinder four-stroke engine developed 1.8 hp from a 349 cm³ displacement . The vehicle had space for one person on a saddle. A two-seat trailer was available.
The voiturette was very similar to the French Decauville , whose German license was actually owned by Heinrich Ehrhardt . The air-cooled two-cylinder engine under the seats was started with a crank that was inserted into the side. In contrast to its model, the falcon had a three-speed gearbox and fully elliptical springs. Another source mentions a built-in engine from De Dion-Bouton with a displacement of 490 cm³.
Later, cars completely in-house construction with water-cooled two- and four-cylinder engines appeared , initially from Fafnir , later from in-house production. In addition, from 1906, the Rheinische Nadelfabrik AG from Aachen invested in the company. The built from 1907 to 1908 four-cylinder model with page-controlled valves and the first cast engine block in Germany provided 12 hp (8.8 kW) of 1.500 cm³ at 1500 min -1 and a top speed of 60 km / h.
This Falcon 6/12 PS was the last model before automobile production was stopped due to lack of demand.
