Focus is a Derby-Cycle-Werke brand .
history
Focus was first introduced in 1993 as a premium brand, initially for sporty mountain bikes . With the help of three-time world champion in cyclocross Mike Kluge , a wide range of mountain bikes gradually emerged from 1993, and trekking bikes were added in 1995 . In 1998, Kluge was replaced by Jörg Arenz, who introduced the road racing bike segment as product manager in 2003 . In 1999 Kluge sold Focus to DerbyCycle. In 2008, in cooperation with Andy Walser, the development of the first time trial bike followed, strengthening the triathlon bike segment . The bicycles are developed in Stuttgart and assembled in Cloppenburg.

In 2009 Focus was the official outfitter of the UCI ProTeam Milram , followed by sponsorship for the UCI Continental teams Van Viet , Jelly Belly Cycling and Team NetApp in 2010 and in 2012 for the Wibatech-Brzeg team .
