Benjamin de Souza Gomes

Benjamin de Souza Gomes (born November 27, 1911 in Ourinçangas , Bahia ; † November 17, 1995 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Paranavaí .

Life

Benjamin de Souza Gomes received on 8 December 1953, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 11, 1968 as the first bishop of the two months earlier established diocese Paranavaí . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Sebastiano Baggio , donated him episcopal ordination on June 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the coadjutor bishop of Sorocaba , José Melhado Campos , and the bishop of Uberlândia , Almir Marques Ferreira .

On October 12, 1985, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
