Almir Marques Ferreira

Almir Marques Ferreira (born November 18, 1911 in Patrocínio , Minas Gerais , Brazil ; † January 1, 1984 in Uberlândia , Minas Gerais) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Uberlândia .

Life

Almir Marques Ferreira received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Uberaba on November 17, 1935 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on April 9, 1957 titular bishop of Arindela and auxiliary bishop in Sorocaba . The apostolic nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Armando Lombardi , donated him episcopal ordination on August 5th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Uberaba, Alexandre Gonçalves do Amaral , and the Bishop of Sorocaba, José Carlos de Aguirre .

On August 19, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the first bishop of the diocese of Uberlândia established four weeks earlier. He attended the first session of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On December 1, 1977, Pope Paul VI. his health-related resignation.
