The Diocese of Uberlândia ( Latin Dioecesis Fertiliensis , Portuguese Diocese de Uberlândia ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Uberlândia in the state of Minas Gerais .

history

The Diocese of Uberlândia was founded on July 22nd, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. Erected from the cession of territory by the Diocese of Uberaba . On October 16, 1982, the Diocese of Uberlândia gave parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Ituiutaba .

It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Uberaba as a suffragan .
